Jesus is just alright by me
Cliff Atkinson believes we are in the midst of a storytelling renaissance. His evidence is two-fold:
- Recognition from the motion graphic design industry that effective communication relies on telling stories—Cliff quotes Jesus de Francisco:
We are at a point now where technology has liberated us from focusing on technology, and now we can concentrate on what really matters—the story.
- News that General Electric has adopted a one-word corporate communication mantra—story.
a story is the opposite of a list. Where a list is dry, fragmented and soulless; a story is juicy, coherent, and full of life.If you can't wait for the book, Cliff hints at what a PowerPoint that blends classical storytelling and multimedia might look like when he describes the first five slides. There is also a Flash version, but beware—it does not work on Macs or in Firefox.
